Y4 Pine 2019-2020

Year 4 - Pine Class
Miss Roberts, Mrs Glyn-Jones and Mrs Wallace
Welcome to our class page! Here you will be able to find out about important information and any upcoming dates and events for our class.
Reading books should be in school everyday and children are expected to read at least three times a week. We love listening to your children read - if they don't have their book with them, we can't!
Maths and English homework will be sent out every Friday and should return to school by Tuesday the following week. If your child is struggling with their homework, please pop a message into their homework book and we can help them during school time.
Children will receive spellings from their spelling groups to learn throughout the week. In addition to this, they will also receive a list of spellings from the year 3/4 spelling list which they will be tested on during assessment week.
Sports 4 Kids will take our P.E. session on a Monday afternoon, it will be outdoor P.E. (Rugby) so outdoor kits will be needed. Children will also be swimming on a Thursday afternoon. Children will need full swimming kits and they may bring goggles if they wish.
Have a look what we are doing this half term...
Our English this half term will focus around the book, 'Shackleton's Journey’ by William Grill. We are loving it! We are writing letters of application, letters home, journals and newspaper reports!
Our Topic this half term is 'Why do so many people go to the Mediterranean?'
We are loving using atlases and learning about the Med.
We are learning about living things and their habitats. We can name living things that are in our local environment and we have already learnt how to classify by classifying ourselves into different groups.
