Curriculum Overview 
Take a look at what we are up to in Year 3 this half term. 
It's Good to be Green 
At Victoria Road:
* We always try our best. 
* We are honest. 
* We keep our hands and feet to ourselves. 
* We look after our property. 
* We are kind and helpful. 
* We walk around school at all times. 
Children who follow our school rules will be invited to join in with our end of half term reward, chosen by the children.  
Reading
Children are expected to read at least three times awake.  Reading diaries will be checked on a Friday.  Please make sure your child brings their reading diary and book to school each day so books can be changed.

Sign up to  Oxford Owls and gain access to a range of e-books for free!
Swimming
The children will have swimming lessons on a Thursday afternoon.  They will need a swimming costume and a towel.  Please make sure hair is tied up.  Children are allowed to bring their goggles.

Homework 
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and must be returned by the following Tuesday.  Children will have Maths homework one week then Maths and English the next.  
TT Rockstars 
Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.  Your child will have a username and login for them to practise their times tables at home. 
Spellings 
Spellings will be sent home on a Thursday and the children will be tested on them the following Wednesday.  Please encourage your child to practise their spellings at home.  Children will also have year 3 words to practise.  These will be tested at the end of each half term during assessment week.
Meet Our School Dog 
 Tig loves to walk around school and visit the children in their classrooms. The children can write letters to Tig and post them in his special post box.
