Welcome to Sycamore Class.
Our Super Sixes are excited to share their learning journey with you in their final year at Victoria Road.
The children will be working very hard whilst making special memories. We have many special activities planned that will take place throughout the year.
Make sure you visit our webpage and Facebook page often.
How can I help my child this year?
Please support your child by reading often with them and completing homework tasks.
Books and diaries should be in school every day.
Help your child learn their weekly spellings and the words on the Year 5 and 6 word list that has been sent home.
Spelling Books should be in school every Monday and Wednesday.
Learn times tables and help your child become secure in recalling facts to x12.
We will be hosting our parent learning sessions at different times in the year which will cover mathematics, reading and SPaG. Dates will be sent via letter and will be posted here and on Facebook.
The key stage 2 tests are timetabled from Monday 14 May to Thursday 17 May 2018.

Prove that the angle of the ray of reflection will be the same as the incidence.
All materials reflect light; but, which material is the best at reflecting light?
Look at our Anglo-Saxon names and what they mean.
Narrative Immersion - Beowulf (Michael Morpurgo)
This week our Mead Hall was attacked by Grendel! He murdered our guards, overturned tables and dragged innocent children to his lair! Luckily, we had eye witnesses so we can write detailed descriptions and our journalists can write a report for you all.

The Tell Tigg post box is in our classroom this week. Why not send him a letter or a note. Share your worries or tell him what went well this week. Tigg will reply and is looking forward to hearing from you. Remember, Tigg especially likes beautiful handwriting and special efforts with spellings.
In Sycamore Class we like to get creative while we write - I love seeing how relaxed my pupils are while they write. Watch this space for some of their published work, you'll be amazed at their skills.
