We teach a new phoneme daily and introduce new high frequency and tricky words every week.
We follow the 'letters and sounds' scheme of work, supplemented by jolly phonics, which introduces a song for each new phoneme introduced.
Please read the information about phonics homework. We do expect that each child will practice their new sound daily. You should help you child to say the sound, think of some words you might hear the sound in, and support them to write the grapheme with correct letter formation. The jolly phonics sheets provided will support you with this.
